It has been about a month since my last blog post and several weeks since I last slept in my own bed or ate any food I cooked myself as I’ve been on the proverbial ‘road’. After a few weeks travelling for work with a much needed getaway to the Caribbean with my oga to top it off, I can comfortably say that I’m looking forward to getting back to my own kitchen. Times away from home are great for decompressing and reflecting, and rest assured I’ve done plenty of both. I’ve also had the chance to savour the flavour of food 4 countries on 3 continents and I have been totally inspired, developing a few new recipes along the way – mostly while watching the waves crash against the beach from my cabana. Can’t wait to try them out. Fingers crossed!
This vacation I have been totally switched off, tuned out and tapped into the present. This post marks my slow re-emergence back into the real world (sigh!). But! At least I have a clear idea on what is coming down the recipe pipeline and excited to get started. There’ll be some great changes coming up on the blog shortly and I promise lots more amazing internationally inspired Nigerian dishes; blogging more frequently is a commitment I have made to myself on this trip. While I start to make my way back to the United States and then finally back to the United States of Naija and my pooches (who I’ve missed sorely) here is a shot that sums up the last 4 weeks I’ve had on the road. Needless to say I see a bowl of eba and soup in my very near future.
