Yes, the proverbial first year anniversary of the blog. I always thought celebrating blogthdays was a bit odd. Now that I’ve gone though the cycle myself, I see why it really is something to celebrate. I’ve come a long way as a now food photographer and stylist and there are yet many more great things on the way. With all the plans that are in the works, you’ll start to see Madam Chef’s ideas evolve. Thanks to all my friends (old and new), fans, and subscribers for joining me on this journey. Your comments, likes, emails and re-shares have kept the momentum going. I’m looking forward to sharing much more with you in the coming days, weeks and years. This is just the beginning.
Given how scorching hot it has been in Lagos lately, I thought what better way to celebrate than with a tall glass of a beautifully refreshing green spritzer.
Hip, hip, let’s sip!
Lovely, fresh and green!
Total cooking time: 15 minutes (prep & serve – 10 mins, blending – 5 mins)
2 Green apples
1 Lemon, the juice of
1/2 cup of fresh mint leaves
Ice (optional – I opted out)
1/4 cup of water
1/2 bottle of sparkling water
2 tbs raw honey (optional sweetener – I opted out)
If you have a high powered professional blender like a Ninja, Blendtec or Vitamix you can throw in all the ingredients and and blend at once.
- Chop all the ingredients up and place in your blender
- Add the 1/4 cup of filtered water and blitz together in your blender. (Note: If you are using ice, reduce the water by 1/2, to avoid making the drink slushy)
- Pour into glasses, top with sparkling water and garnish to your liking
- Drink immediately
